Can you offer any polite Christian advice on how to relax?

Whatever works for me at that moment, depending upon my day and schedule. The first two can be done almost anytime and anywhere, and can be done with eyes open if closed eyes would present a difficulty.

%26gt;%26gt;Sometimes sitting for a moment in silence within myself (usually that means excusing myself for a potty break, if I'm out and about - no one's said no to me on this yet)

%26gt;%26gt;My current fav - this works every time either after the fourth round if I'm not too wound up and by the 10th round if I'm really maxing out:

Breathing [keeping my counting pace consistent throughout each 5-3-7 cycle (if I start fast I stay fast, till the next round, if I'm slow I stay slow till the next round, etc)]

I --

Breathe in [for the count of 5]

Hold my breath [for the count of 3]

Release my breath [for the count of 7]

Repeat until I feel the relaxation in my body

%26gt;%26gt;Go stand and contemplate outdoors in nature for a couple of minutes

%26gt;%26gt;Go to a movie that keeps my mind on the movie, so I'm in the NOW moment and nowhere else

%26gt;%26gt;Get a relaxation massage by a licensed massage therapist - or rubbing my ears, face, scalp, neck and feet myself for whatever time I have (I skip the feet if I can't take my shoes off).

%26gt;%26gt;Take a hot, hot, hot shower and vigorously scrub myself dry with my towel

%26gt;%26gt;Have a cuppa - chamomile tea or other fav warm beverage

%26gt;%26gt;Listen to uplifting or soothing music

%26gt;%26gt;Close my eyes and meditate or pray

%26gt;%26gt;Read Scripture

%26gt;%26gt;Do some yard work

%26gt;%26gt;Fold freshly dried towels (nothing else - if it's for relaxation)

%26gt;%26gt;Sit with my animals and 'pet' them

%26gt;%26gt;Take a nap - even 3 minutes in the car with the seat laid back a bit and my eyes closed helps so much to relax

%26gt;%26gt;Ride a bike

%26gt;%26gt;Do shoulder 'scrunches' - hold them tight up by my ears for three full breaths in and out and then just dropping them.

%26gt;%26gt;Swimming or soaking in a pool, lake or ocean

%26gt;%26gt;Eating a favorite comfort food item

%26gt;%26gt;Talking with a friend

%26gt;%26gt;Looking at a wonderful landscape or other picture for a couple of minutes without looking anywhere else. Usually there's a calendar around with a pic for that purpose, even if I'm not particularly fond of the pic. I suppose staring at a desktop pic would suffice in a pinch.

%26gt;%26gt;Laying down in the grass and looking up at the clouds passing OR standing in the surf up to my ankles and just listening to the surf and watching the ocean undulate and the clouds passing by.

Got lots more but that's enough for now.

Thanks - Yawn - for the relaxing Q - I'm relaxed by answering it. Clever lad, thanks :)Can you offer any polite Christian advice on how to relax?
Read what the Bible says about fear. The Bible also says that the person who's mind is stayed on Him will have peace. Jesus also said that we should not worry about tomorrow because the problems for today are enough. We are also commanded not to worry about what we will wear or eat. God takes care of the sparrow. Are we not worth more than that? Can you offer any polite Christian advice on how to relax?
did you try talking to GOD? Try to tell him every thing is bothering you, try to talk to HIM like your talking to your BEST FRIEND, tell him every detail

of your situation and ask HIM to give the answer to your problems
Most christians can seek peace and harmony through worship, meditating at a local church is a nice place to relax.

Also becos god is everywhere they can also prayer/meditate at home as he is still listening.
quiet atmosphere - music you like - calm yourself down - mentally say a prayer and picture yourself on a beach (or whatever setting makes you happy) then count your blessings :)
Prayer in a tranquil corner of your 20-acre countryside mansion.
sleep baby sleep
Jesus says chill out dude.
