I'm scared now!!!??? Christian Advice!?

Im a christian and was stupid enough to buy a certain book.. its called 23 minutes in hell... i wasnt scared while reading it just praying to god because of what it explained.... but now I have the read images in my head and when its kind of dark or im alone i get scared and constantly look behind me... i've prayed but I dont really feel relief or less fear.... and plz dont say hell isnt real bcuz i believe in heaven and hell.... anyone have advice!???I'm scared now!!!??? Well you know you don't want to go there, even for 23 minutes. Maybe you need to ask for forgiveness for something, or forgive someone who has hurt you. Remember there is also a heaven, There's a book by a guys who's name I think is Richard Ebby. He fell from a 2 story building and was also dead for several hours before re-entering his body. But he talks about the Glory of heaven and how the flowers make music.

Don't be afraid of Satan, Jesus Christ is the light. Satan trembles at God's voice. Satan is a coward and a big fat liar. You can cast out demons in the name of Jesus Christ.
Sounds like you need to spend more time in The Word. If you were really grounded in Christ, what is there to fear but fear itself??? Your answer is in The Bible!! New Testament ;Romans and Ephesians would be a good place to start.

edit: this is a perfect example of what is wrong with religion, religion only creates mental instability, if you want to do some soul searching and want to make it into heaven (since it is what you beleive) go help other, do something for your community, dont read this psycho crap that will effect your life and make you unhappy
when you are scared, just recite out loud that Christ is your Savior, God is more powerful that Satan, Satan cant touch you because God has you in His arms, God wont let you go, etc. Just say stuff like that, God will comfort you and take away your fears! Dont just pray in your head, pray out loud, satan cant hear what youre saying in your head. Saying it out loud will show satan that God has a hold of you! It may sound funny at first, but it works for me! God will take care of you!
Why would your God think that's a justifiable punishment for not believing in him, or accepting the blood of his son?
Woah woah woah. You have to remember. Since you're saved, you aren't gonna go there. Isn't that wonderful? I mean, you have these images in your head. And of course you'd want to get as far away from it as possible. Well, you've already accomplished that. Know that you're going to Heaven. Know that God is with you. Know that if God is for us, who can be against us?





And all at the same time, feel convicted that this is the very reason why we try to spread the Gospel. Right?

It is also important to pray for others who do sin, so that they will not suffer that fate.
Anything written in that book is just someone's idea of what hell is like. It doesn't mean that whatever you read is exactly what hell is like. And Jesus God is love and wouldn't punish sinners overly because we are made in His image and he has made humans to be compassionate and forgiving. He has those qualities a hundred fold of what us humans have. And he died for mankinds sins so that all mankind could be saved. So whatever you have done to make yourself scared of hell or if you think you deserve hell for some reason you would do well to remember the power and mercy of Gods love. I personally find it hard to believe that anyone, even someone really bad like satan would allow anyone to be tortured for eternity. It is totally sadistic. I believe that the hell mentioned in the bible is figurative for this reason.
Take time to look through your bible to see what it actually describes hell as. It actually gives almost no description other then some fire and some teeth gnashing. All the descriptions in the books like 23 minutes in hell or Dante's Inferno are usually just fictional fabrications or taken from other religions versions of the underworld. Take comfort in the fact that we really have no idea what hell is truly like and therefore couldn't accurately imagine it. And imagine how loving God is supposed to be. He even loves those who have deliberately chosen to not serve him. Do you really honestly think your loving, kind, compassionate, wise God would deem it fit to torture people for all eternity just because of the actions over 70 years? Wouldn't it be much more merciful for God to simply wipe the sinner out of all existence? It does to me anyway
Begin believing in yourself for a start. If you listen to and believe what everyone else says then you are being led around by the nose. Believe in hell if you want, but read and think about what it really might be rather than what everyone else tells you it is.
Just remember that that book is nothing but absurd nonsense.
IF you are truly Gods little child you can call upon Him and HE will give you rest. Better still, get your bible down off the shelf and dust it off and read Psalms. Read them to God. and ask HIM to speak to your heart because you are scared. and HE will. confess your sin of being scared and ask for His help. God bless you sweet heart. May my lord comfort your heart.
I was scared when I read some of Stephen King's stuff to. It's just as real.
I got onto Amazon just now and read some reviews. Boy, it does look like a scary book! I suggest you find some mature people at your church to talk with about how you are feeling. It will make such a difference to let out your thoughts. And continue praying to God about it, too.

Xianity is a fear based religion. THat's how they keep their converts. I was once fear filled also. When I left xianity the fear vanished almost overnight. If it was real, the fear would still be with me. The brainwashing they do is necessary to keep you from using your common sense, intelligence to realize that xianity is a lie. So is heaven and hell. The only thing you have to fear is fear itself.
Just keep on praying. The book is not to scare people but to get them to know that God is real heaven and hell is real. But be not afraid take heed to what the books is saying.

I believe in heaven and hell. Can you tell me what images you are talking about? I have the book in my library but have never read it.





If you are impacted by a negative image then the book has had an impact on you. This could be the Holy Spirit working to show you that you need to avoid hell. if you are a Christian you already know how to avoid hell.





All I can say is when you feel scared or alarmed, pray in Jesus name that anything present (real or imagined) is cast out from before you.
Read Roman 8:28. You have nothing to fear.
I read this book and I was horrified at the description of hell. There is no reason for you to be afraid, as long as you are really a Christian. But this should make you want to spread the Gospel of Jesus. And remember that God is with you at all times. He hears your prayers.
I heard about this guy on the Trinity Broadcasting Network an i heard an old saying that says don't believe everything you see and hear on television.The Trinity Broadcasting Network needs to be faithful to what the word of God says in the bible and stop intimidating viewers at home without finding out the true facts first to see if some story's are real or were they deceived by evil spirits.Read Luke 16 about the story of the Rich man and Lazarus.
I just watched the video by the author of the book today. Yes, the images he describes are difficult. The feeling I had when I watched this video was that we Christians need to make even greater efforts to get people to know Jesus as Savior. The fact that you say you are a Christian as well is the best part of your question and is the source of the comfort you can find. Because ';there is no condemnation in Christ,'; you can know that you will be with God in heaven for eternity. So you do not have reason to be scared, even though the images of hell that Mr. Weiss gives are disturbing.
The ONLY WAY to avoid being sent to hell, is by believing the truth about Jesus. And if you believe the truth about Jesus, then you can NEVER be sent to hell.





So, believe the truth about Jesus :)





The truth about Jesus is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to eternal hell is by believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died for our sins on the cross and rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe this and you are saved!





Please pray now: ';Jesus, please forgive me of my sins. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and You rose from the dead. Thank You for eternal life!'; You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die. :)
